A politician, a doula, and a pediatrician walk into a bar.

The bartender looks up and says, “Good evening, ladies. What can I get you?”

The politician orders a virgin margarita. The doula asks for a Coke. The pediatrician wants a soda water with lime.

The bartender glances at his watch and says with a wink, “Lemme guess — it’s a little too close to bedsharing for a real drink.”

The politician guffaws. The doula rolls her eyes with a smile. The pediatrician blushes and asks in a hushed voice, “How do you know that I bedshare with my baby?”

The bartender responds with a shrug, “4 out of 5 moms do.”

My friend! This month I wrote my first ever cosleeping joke! I’ve been pumping out cosleeping content since the before-times, and I need something new. The feedback on the joke was surprisingly encouraging, so I’m going to try to come up with some more. It feels so good to be creative!

This is how I felt when I started making cosleeping memes four years ago. Absolutely no one else on Instagram was doing it back then, and I felt like it was a higher calling. 😂 I purposely designed my memes to be incredibly niche. It helped attract “my people.” People like YOU, who just get it.

The first-ever cosleeping meme

I’m always trying to find ways to make cosleeping content fun and joyful, while being helpful. (Hence my lovable Cosleeping Safety Captain character!) I hope you like what I’m doing. Thank you for being here, especially right now while I’m prioritizing my book and can’t be the creative rockstar on Instagram that I once was.

Keep scrolling for a summary of my May. I hope you feel seen, less alone, and more confident about sharing sleep with your baby. Sending you love, wherever you are right now. Xx

Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry

Two writers compete for the chance to tell the larger-than-life story of a woman with more than a couple of plot twists up her sleeve in this dazzling and sweeping new novel from Emily Henry.

DID YOU KNOW? I have read hundreds of books on my phone over the last few years while lying beside my sleeping boys through the Libby app. All for free. Download the app, enter your library card, find a good book, and dive in!

(You can send the book to your Kindle, if you’d prefer!)

You can tap here to see what I read in April, March, February, January, December, November, and October. I generally suggest a gentle genre for this season of life, like romance or mystery!

WHAT I BOUGHT

I bought this super soft bubble blanket as a baby shower gift. I told my friend that it’s not supposed to be used when she cosleeps with her baby, but I wanted her to have something special when she’s awake and wants to be cozy.

I bought my friend Carson’s new book for my book editor — it’s a beautiful, week-by-week pregnancy and birthing guide. It would also make a great baby shower gift, and it’s much more affordable than that blanket! 😅

May is my birthday month! Matty asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I said concert tickets to see Leon Bridges! Have you heard his music?! He’s one of my favorite musicians ever, and I cannot believe I get to see him in real life in a few days. This will be my first concert since 2019!
